I hope you enjoy it, too.Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12471937819219493034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121497265402071351.post-9793463109707962012011-07-04T09:48:12.216-07:002011-07-04T09:48:12.216-07:00@ Neil: Yeah brevity has never been the trait of t...@ Neil: Yeah brevity has never been the trait of the fantasy novelist. But Jordan has taken this to new heights!

@ WB Kelso: Thanks for the tip that's good to know.

@Le0: Aw Pshaw. Thanks for the tip on Crais, I'm going to definitely keep reading the series.

@ Merus: Yeah I have up to book four on CD and I've been listening to them while running. So I'll take it up to there at least.Bryce Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17040954580033470664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121497265402071351.post-8192261518641324732011-07-03T17:43:57.741-07:002011-07-03T17:43:57.741-07:00I definitely think you should stay with Jordan...a...I definitely think you should stay with Jordan...at least for a while. The next 4 books will be extremely worth your while, then it gets really dicey after that, and if you get to Path Of Daggers you might want to set Jordan's corpse on fire, yet he recovered brilliantly with Winter's Heart. After that, I kind of gave upMarcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00437939310174555236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8121497265402071351.post-87712794814948059962011-07-02T18:54:01.414-07:002011-07-02T18:54:01.414-07:00I'm always impressed with the number, variety,...I'm always impressed with the number, variety, and quality of your reading, Bryce. And I'm not saying that because you honor me by trying some of my recommendations -- but I do thank you for the shout-outs you're so generous with. For me, the other pleasure about Robert Crais' series is the manner his characters develop as it progresses (especially after book five). Not surprising, the quality rises as the author matures as a writer.

I got try that Book of Lists Horror (it's right up my alley), along with that Donald Westlake standalone. I haven't tired of the violent world of Parker yet. Great summary, my friend. After that, he just seems to be recycling. A lot. Also, I'd urge you to space them out a bit. I tried to go through and reread the series awhile back but (I'm over-simplifying, here...) his lengthy descriptions ring too familiar from book to book.W.B. I picked up his copy of volume, I think, 15 or 16 when I was over at his place last time. The prologue ran 90 pages.
